Our History

A legacy of faith, compassion, and courage

Rainbow of Hope Texas began with a dream - rooted in faith, compassion and the courage to take a step forward. Ann Henderson felt called to create a place where individuals with special needs and those facing life's challenges could experience growth, connection and hope. Where many might hesitate, she chose to move forward with trust and conviction.

With a background in education and a heart for service, Ann partnered with her husband, Jack Henderson, whose expertise in agriculture and animal husbandry helped bring that vision to life. Together, they created a sanctuary grounded in the powerful bond between people and animals.

From the beginning, equine-assisted therapy became the heart of the program, offering youth on the autism spectrum and military veterans a path toward healing through trust, connection and unconditional acceptance. What started as a step of faith has grown into a place where lives are touched every day.

Though Ann and Jack have stepped away from their roles, their vision continues to guide the mission. Their legacy lives on through every story of hope, healing and transformation.
